For Those Who Are Travelling to Romania, Bulgaria


During the summer, in the middle of the tourist season the traffic has extremely increased in the borders of Romania and Bulgaria, that claims extended efforts from the Police.

The Police has been informed that Hungarian citizens are not aware of some crucial facts about the conditions of crossing borders, especially those who are trying to cross at the Ártánd border crossing point.

Romania is a member of the European Union, however it belongs to an external Schengen border, which means the followings: there is a border control, every Hungarian passenger, even if he/she is under the age of 14, has to show his/her valid identity card or passport. If these documents are missing, the border guard has to send the passenger backwards.

In consideration of the above mentioned facts, we are asking every passenger to check his/her documents before the journey, to avoid nuisances.
